Dr. Nathan Doyel graduated from OHSU dental school in 1997 with honors. He has been honored as a “Top Dentist” in Oregon for many years and is the founder of Deserving Smile, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reconstructing entire smiles for deserving individuals. He has been an innovator with the “Trial Smile”, a technique developed for full mouth reconstruction to ensure ideal results.
Dr. Doyel is a Fellow with the AAID and Diplomate with the ABOI/ID which symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. He is also a leader in the 3D CAD/CAM dentistry and enjoys mentoring other dentists and sharing his knowledge with them. In addition to lecturing and in order to facilitate his passion for dental education, he is the founder of Dental Surgical Camps and hosts several camps for other doctors to attend throughout the year.
Dr Doyel also has extensive training in sinus lifts, bone augmentation, bone expansion & grafts, guided surgery, periodontics, periodontal therapy, gum grafts, and laser therapy. He specializes in other areas of general dentistry as well including endodontics or root canal therapy, full mouth reconstruction as he calls “New Smile in a Day”, and sleep apnea oral appliance therapy. New Smiles Dental office also offers three types of sedation dentistry including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation to make patients feel at ease during their appointment.

Dr. Doyel and his wife, Polly, have 5 children and two grandchildren. They often work together and feel it is a privilege to share their love of dentistry together. You can find Dr. Doyel playing games or traveling with his family, performing in choirs and community musicals, working out, reading, writing, golfing, teaching or taking dental courses. Dr. Doyel enjoys being active in his church and community. He served a 2-year mission in Chicago for his church working with the deaf, 6 years training missionaries, and 3 years teaching early morning seminary to teenagers. Dr. Doyel has participated within his community by coaching baseball and track and helping with the Boy Scouts of America. He has also served on the YMCA board, as a member of the Sherwood Rotary Club and Sherwood Chamber of Commerce.
