Anatomy of a Tooth
Enamel – the
hard, white outer layer of the tooth that forms the crown.
Dentin – the layer of the tooth structure just below
the enamel. Dentin is more yellow-colored than enamel and
less resistant to decay and wear.
Pulp – the soft tissue filled center of a tooth.
The pulp is made up of blood vessels and nerve tissue.
Cementum – the
thin, outer layer of the root.
